Playing with LEGOs® individually and in a small group can benefit children in so many incredible ways. Developing fine motor skills may seem an obvious benefit, but did you know children need the same muscles and skills when learning to write? Connecting the bricks with precision and detail strengthens fine motor skills and improves hand-eye coordination.
LEGOs® are known to have amazing benefits for the development of fine motor skills, developing dexterity and strength in the fingers. The different amounts of pressure used to assemble the LEGO® pieces, is a wonderful exercise for small fingers, supporting children in being able to hold a pencil and control the pressure applied when writing.
Choose a LEGO® kit and a table space in the library, then let the building begin! Kits available are appropriate for ages 3 through 18. Children under 12 must be accompanied by a caregiver.
Join us every 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of each month.
