USAG Benelux-Brussels Library presents a new, 50 minute reading-readiness program for pre-readers, ages 2 years old to 5 years old, with their parent(s) or care-giver(s). The Very Ready Reading Program integrates rhyme, music, movement, art and story time. Seven research-based principles guide the program:
- Share Books: Reading together is the very best way to raise a reader.
- Share Sounds: Sounds are the building blocks of words.
- Share Words: Knowing many words helps your child build a strong vocabulary.
- Share Rhymes: Rhymes help your child understand that words have different parts and rythyms.
- Share Songs: Songs add joy to the understanding of sounds and words.
- Share Stories: Listening to stories helps your child connect with the world.
- Share Playtime: Playing together builds a loving bond between you and your child.
Join us at 10:00 am, before the library officially opens. Please knock on the door and the librarian facilitator will let you in! Younger siblings are welcome.
