Child and Youth Services (CYS) provides programs and services for children of eligible military and civilian families. Within CYS you will find something to meet your children’s needs, including:

  • Full, part time or hourly child care
  • Before/after school care
  • Camps
  • Programs for your middle school and teen youth
  • Instructional classes
  • Workforce preparation opportunities
  • Sports and fitness activities 

Today’s CYS programs, deemed a "model for the nation" by Presidential acclaim, continue to operate on these cornerstones:

  • Quality – Child care is DoD-certified and nationally accredited
  • Availability – Child care is available on- and off-post
  • Affordability – Fees for various programs are competitively priced and affordable regardless of sponsor's income
  • Accountability - To safeguard the Army's resources by efficient management oversight, good fiscal stewardship, reducing waste and protecting assets of programs and services to Soldiers and their Families.

What type of programs are available for my child?
We currently have full-Day, part-day Strong Beginnings, and hourly care. 

On what dates is the Child Development Center (CDC) closed?
The CDC is closed on Belgian national holidays, and two additional training days. 

How and when can I book hourly care?
After completing registration with Parent Central Services and an orientation at the Child Development Center, hourly care reservations may be booked at the CDC front desk, either in person or via telephone. We accept reservations 30 days in advance.

Are my children eligible for care at the Child Development Center?
Parent Central Services would be happy to assist you in determining eligibility for our different child care options. Parent Central Services is located in building 503 and they can also be reached by telephone.

What type of meals are offered?
All the meals are prepared at the Child Development Center following USDA standards. In order to promote language and cognitive skills, fine motor skills and positive social interactions, we participate in family style dining in all classrooms. Children under 12 months are on individual feeding schedules developed between parents and caregivers.

What types of activities will be child be engaged in throughout the day?
At the Child Development Center we focus on activities that are developmentally appropriate and individualized to your child's specific needs. We use our classroom environments to promote self-confidence, creativity and self-discipline. Creative Curriculum is used in all classrooms throughout the CDC. Creative Curriculum focuses on the following six domains: social, physical, language/literacy, cognitive/intellectual, emotional, and cultural.
